Dirt Roads, Fingernails and Planet Earth

Welcome back to the Cause Cinema Spotlight.

This week, we present a poetic, yet scripted connection to nature in one debut feature and another breathtaking journey through wildlife returns for season III. Plus the nature of love and relationships through the eyes of science fiction. We’ll start there with…

Fingernails
If there was an innovative test that proved whether you and your partner were in love, would you take it? Anna and Ryan have found true love. It’s been proven by a controversial new technology. There’s just one problem: Anna still isn’t sure. Then she takes a position at a love testing institute, and meets Amir. Fingernails is a playful meditation on love starring Jessie Buckley, Riz Ahmed, and Jeremy Allen White.

You can find Fingernails on AppleTV+, and in limited theaters.

Planet Earth III
Finally, after a 7-year wait, the eagerly anticipated Planet Earth continues. This spellbinding series features never-before-seen behavior and dives deep into the stories and animal characters which reflect the new challenges that wildlife faces in our modern, crazy crowded world. The series highlights the growing need to preserve and of course restore nature. In the final episode, we meet some of the dedicated ‘heroes’ across the globe who put their lives on the line to protect the wildlife and ecosystems of Planet Earth.

You can see Planet Earth III on BBC America, AMC+ or through Amazon.

All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt
A lyrical, decades-spanning exploration across a woman's life in Mississippi, the feature debut from award-winning poet, photographer and filmmaker Raven Jackson is a haunting and richly layered portrait, a beautiful ode to the generations of people and places that shape us.

All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt is currently in select theaters.

And that’s a wrap for the Cause Cinema Spotlight.  Have a great weekend.
