Welcome back to the Cause Cinema Spotlight.
Bold stories this week. Radical heroes, innovative filmmaking, and a terrific new series, the latest project from Producer/Director Shawn Levy (Stranger Things; Deadpool 3).
The Light you Cannot See
Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel, All the Light We Cannot See tells the story of Marie-Laure Leblanc (Aria Mia Loberti), a blind French girl taking refuge with her father and reclusive uncle in St. Malo, France and Werner (Louis Hofmann), a brilliant teenager enlisted by hitler’s regime with an expertise in radio repair. Together they share a secret connection that will become a beacon of light that leads them through the harrowing backdrop of WWII.
You can find The Light you Cannot See on Netflix.
Next up is a powerful, entertaining film, a hit at both Toronto and Telluride Festivals.
Rustin
Architect of 1963’s momentous March on Washington, Rustin challenged authority and never apologized for who he was, but was forgotten despite making history. Rustin spotlights the man who, alongside Martin Luther King Jr., dared to imagine a different world and inspired a movement. The film features an all-star cast including Chris Rock, Glynn Turman, Jeffrey Wright and Audra McDonald.

And finally, another strong entry from Participant Media - winner of the Festival Favorite Award at Sundance
Radical
Sixth grade students in a Mexican border town are among the worst performing students in Mexico, with their world one of violence and hardship, not possibility. Plagued by neglect, corruption, and violence, a frustrated teacher tries a radical new method to break through his students' apathy and unlock their curiosity, their potential... and maybe even their genius. Based on a true story.
Radical is now playing in theaters. The film was shot in Spanish language and can be seen with English subtitles.
And that’s a wrap for the Cause Cinema Spotlight. Have a great weekend.
