Welcome back to the Cause Cinema Spotlight.
A lot of secrets this week. Some revealed, in the end. Others, not so much.
A tight indie thriller hits theaters. A remarkable award winner is now streaming, and Apple has another hit series. Let’s start there.

You can learn more and see on AppleTV+.
The Quiet Girl
This is a delicate drama that follows a shy nine-year-old who has been separated from her immediate family and left in the care of two distant relatives for the summer. After sun-dappled days spent milking cows, peeling potatoes and fetching water from the well, the Initially uncommunicative child soon opens up to her foster parents. Textural and tender, this award-winning film shows that home is where you feel loved.
You can see The Quiet Girl on AppleTV, Amazon or Vudu.
The Lesson
Liam, an aspiring and ambitious young writer, eagerly accepts a tutoring position at the family estate of his idol, renowned author J.M. Sinclair. But soon, Liam realizes that he is ensnared in a web of family secrets, resentment, and retribution. Sinclair, his wife Hélène, and their son Bertie all guard a dark past, one that threatens Liam's future as well as their own. As the lines between master and protégé blur, class, ambition, and betrayal become a dangerous combination in this taut noir thriller.
The Lesson is now in theaters.
